Alabama man faces criminal charges after high speed chase

Following a high-speed chase, a 47-year-old Alabama man is now facing multiple criminal charges. Because of the serious penalties, he will want to work on a solid criminal defense.

The chase that led to the man's arrest apparently began when his wife contacted police. In her phone call, she said that her husband had taken their vehicle to possibly purchase drugs and that she was afraid of a potential domestic conflict. Police arrived at the home at the same time the man did. That's when police claim he took off in his vehicle.

The chase lasted close to fifteen minutes and finally ended when the man was forced off the road after authorities placed spikes on the road. The man wasn't injured, but was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest pains. Police say the man admitted to consuming cocaine before and during the incident, and one official noted chest pains would not be unusual under such circumstances.

The man was arrested and now faces 15 charges against him, including possession of a controlled substance and first degree assault.

According to the news source, this isn't the man's first arrest. The man was apparently arrested in September 2010 as a fugitive from justice in Georgia.

The man will now need to focus his attention on the charges against, but it is important to remember that everyone is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. This man and others in similar situations would do best to rely on the advice of an experienced criminal defense attorney.
