An Alabama man now faces additional charges after authorities say he drove drunk and crashed into a school bus.
Tuscumbia, AL Police Chief, Tony Logan, was charged with DUI in 2009 after he crashed his patrol car into his own mailbox at his Florence home in 2009, according to reports from The Huntsville Times. The Chief of Police was convicted at Florence City Court and appealed his case to the Circuit Court. Due to the amount of publicity in the case, the case was transferred to an Etowah County Circuit Court.
A man who has sat on an Alabama city council for 15 years recently pleaded guilty to drug charges, and has begun a yearlong pretrial diversion program.
Last year, Birmingham saw the fewest number of murders since 1977. Many credit the decline to the current police chief.
